FMM: Travel

If you read my blog much, you may have noticed that I travel pretty often so you probably aren’t surprised that today’s topic is travel.

Today has been a record travel day.  I arrived at the airport ON TIME (early even!), lines were fast, my bag was under 50 lbs, and people are actually friendly!  Best travel day ever, even if my alarm went off at 4:40am!

If you’ve taken part in FMM then you know the rules. If you’re new, please take a moment to answer this week’s question on your own blog then add your link in the comments section here at: www.alltheweigh.com so we can all see your FMM questions and answers. The idea is to connect with other awesome bloggers so take a moment to post your own FMM post and comment on a couple of other posts. Now it’s time for this week’s topic!

FMM: Travel

1.  Where did your most recent trip take you?  My last trip happily brought me home from Salt Lake City on Friday, and I'm actually heading back there this morning.  I really should take up residency in Utah somehow...

2.  Is there a place that you’d like to visit that you haven’t yet?  If so, where?  Greece is on the list, as is Spain.  I'd like to do some serious travel in the Caribbean as well - - Turks and Caicos, Bahamas, Jamaica, Bermuda (that may be more Atlantic), St. Thomas, St. John... all are targeted for future vacations!

3.  Do you travel lightly, or do you cram as much into your luggage as possible?  Negative on the light bags.  I travel pretty heavily.  Like Kenz, I checked in this morning with 46.2 lbs of luggage.

4.  Do your eating and exercise habits change when you travel? If so, how?  Because I travel about three weeks a month, I'd say my eating and exercise habits change when I'm at home and have access to a refrigerator full of food and a stove!  I really try to stay on program when I'm on the road, and do my best to get to the hotel gym on each trip.  Here's some of my best travel tips for eating healthy, and where to find healthy snack options in the airport.  Avoid the temptations!  You can do it!

5.  Tell us about a place you’ve been that you’d like to go back to.  The Caribbean.  I just love how beautiful the water is down there.  I literally felt like I was swimming in a screensaver.  I long for that feeling again.

6.  Do you prefer to travel at a certain time of year?  Well, there's a few times of year I wish I could avoid:  1 - The holidays and 2 - Spring break.  Spring break through Denver and/or Salt Lake City are brutal.  Lots of people with skis and no clue where they are going.  For a frequent traveler, it slows me down...

7.  If you had to choose, would you go to the beach or the mountains?  I live near the mountains, so I choose beach EVERY TIME.

Turks and Caicos... Also on the list!
8.  Have you ever needed a passport to travel?  Yep, I have one and it's ready for a trip at any moment!  I've been to Europe a few times + the Dominican Republic.

9.  Do you collect anything in your travels?  Just frequent flier miles, and LOTS of them! :)

10.  Where do you plan to go next?  I fly to SLC this morning, and next week is Missoula, Montana.  The following week, I'll be in Vegas.

They're all work trips, but guess which one I'm looking most forward to??

WOW + An Upgrade

I can’t tell you how happy I am to be getting back to my normal routine this week.  And, I’ve got a LOT of Workout Updates for you this week, but before I do.... let me tell you about something fun.

I checked into the Townplace Suites last night in Pocatello, Idaho for a quick overnight stay.  Because I stay at Marriott a LOT, I tend to get upgraded into fancier rooms than I reserve.  Well, tonight was definitely that way.

How about they put me in the HONEYMOON SUITE?  So funny... and frankly, it has a nicer kitchen than I do!  If you're ever interested in honeymooning in Pocatello, Idaho... here's a sneak peek at your future accomodations...  I joke, but it's REALLY a nice room.

One of two bathrooms in the place...
Not watching football btw, this is just a commercial
Check out the kitchenette!
Onto Work Out Wednesday (WOW)

When I initially got started at the Y, I told myself that I’d like to go to the gym at least 3 times a week… and then, that grew quickly into wanting to go to the gym more days than I didn’t.  That’s my goal these days - Workout 4 days a week.

Sadly, I did not hit my goal this week. Here's the breakdown:

Wednesday, January 25Date night.  Excused. J

Thursday, January 26 – Flight Delay… so, I didn’t get home until 8pm!

Friday, January 27 – Sushi with a friend took priority over working out this night.

Saturday, January 28 – Full workout at the Y – I did 40 minutes on the elliptical, and completed a full circuit of weights:  Core, Arms, Thighs… that’s my circuit.  I need to learn how to use other machines too, but I’ll take these for now.

Sunday, January 29 – Hmmm…. I put on workout CLOTHES this day.  Does that count?  I ended up crawling back in bed for a long nap followed by a pedicure.  Workout fail.

Monday, January 30 – Great workout at the Y.  My workout matched what I did on Saturday.  40 minutes of fabulous cardio, followed by strength training.

Tuesday, January 31 – I worked out in the hotel’s fitness room.  Even after a REALLY long day of travel, I made it happen.  I seriously feel better when I work out, and 20 minutes on the elliptical + 20 minutes on the treadmill was enough for me tonight.  In other news, I am constantly reminded that all ellipticals are not created equal.  This one was PAINFUL (in a good way.)

Year-to-Date Workout Stats
Uh-oh... I'm barely working out more than I am not working out YTD.  Time to kick it up a notch in the next few weeks!  Stay tuned, folks... Will make you proud!

Travel Turbulence

I can handle turbulence.  No big deal.  Most times, I can literally be sleeping against the window and not even wake up.  I'm an exceptional plane sleeper.  I should add that to my resume.

Now, the turbulence I had today was SO unexpected.  It happened when I was on the ground.

I was in a little bit of a hurry when I got to the airport.  I didn't want to take the time to stop for lunch on the way to the airport, thinking I could just pick up a sandwich at the airport.  They have a Quizno's.  I knew I'd be fine.

So... after going through security and getting the special extra scanning for the first time in 2012, I went to Quizno's and ordered my sandwich.

Now, airport Quizno's are not like normal Quizno's.  Specifically, they have a limited menu and only have Regular sized sandwiches.  I think a regular is about 9 inches.  That's too much sandwich.

I know that the airport people HATE me (and the people in line behind me didn't love me either)... because I ordered as follows:  Mesquite Chicken Sandwich, no cheese, no bacon, no Ranch, extra tomatoes, light honey mustard on wheat.  Possibly a record for my typical modified meals.

Anyway, I planned to cut about a third of the sandwich off and throw it in the trash.  Um, I ate the whole thing.  Estimated calories of that sandwich exceeds 500 calories.  GASP!

As though that weren't enough, there were additional bumps.... I went to the gift shop to get a water and they had these, so I thought I'd get them too.

Only 100 calories, but seriously??

These babies have 210 calories for the package
Unbelievable.

I was going to eat one cookie because I "wanted something sweet."  Those cookies had no chance.

By the time I left the airport, I had about 165 calories left for dinner and any snacks.  HOLY CRAP!

Interestingly, I was able to recover!  I got home and hit the gym immediately.  I am seriously starting to look at working out as a way to add more calories into my life.  It's like my eating for the day is a checking account... there's deposits and withdrawals all day long, and you NEVER want to overdraw.  At this point, I needed a SIGNIFICANT deposit.

I did some serious cardio combined with some strength training.  While I had NO desire to go, it was fine was I got there and got going.  If you've never been on Friday nights, the gym is a total ghost-town, so you get through your machines and equipment super fast - - no waiting!

Afterward, I came home and made a delicious Weight Watchers soup and ended up with a positive balance in my food "bank account."

Weight Watchers Creamy Tomato Soup - - Amazing
It was a bumpy ride, but I made it through.  This is the first day in FOREVER where I've had bumps like this... it's nice to know you can bounce back!

Wanna Talk about Working Out?

I've been off work since December 21.  Unbelievably fabulous.  Now, I haven't done anything that was that exciting, but there's something nice about:  Waking up at your leisure, watching multiple movies if I feel like it, being caught up on laundry and dry cleaning, and taking time to experiment with new recipes.

It's been AWESOME.  All good things, we know, must eventually come to an end.  As you're reading this post, I am officially back at work.  Working hard, and trying to sift through email, and make travel plans for the month.

I have a HUGE to-do list that I need to get working on ASAP.

As I get back into work-mode, my mind is on WORKING OUT.  I've worked out for the past 5 days, and I'm really on a roll.  I've been able to go to the gym whenever I wanted to.  Some days I've gone during the afternoon, some days I've gone as soon as I've woken up.  I even had a chance to work with a trainer last week - - which was awesome!

Hello Weight Machines... Nice to Meet You
The trainer and I spent an hour going through how to use each of the weight machines and getting me set up on a system in the gym that tracks all my workouts.  I'm getting to the point where I'm almost excessively tracked... but I'll do it.  Every little bit helps!

I really think that working out is going to be key to losing my next 17 lbs and will be incredibly important for long-term maintenance.  As a result, I plan to share an update on my workouts (the good, the bad, and the ugly)  on a weekly basis.

How I Worked Out This Week:  Keep in mind, two months ago I wasn't working out at ALL.  For the past month and a half, I've been working out pretty consistently.  And, don't quote me on this, but I think I'm starting to enjoy it!  (Yes, Laurel, you heard me right!)

There's a machine or two that I'll never befriend. Yes, I'm talking about YOU, Arc Trainer.
My Current Workout
Elliptical - 30 minutes - Get it out of the way first!
Bicep/Tricep Work
Treadmill - 15-20 minutes
Core Work - Torso, Back, Ab Machines
Recumbent Bike - 15-30 minutes

I mix up the workout slightly as I see fit... sometimes a little more bike (if I'm reading something good.)  Other times, I've done some extra treadmill.  Sometimes, I do the leg machines. It just depends.

How I Plan to Workout Next Week:  I'm back to work starting today and traveling for part of the week.  What this means is that I will have to get creative in my workouts, working out at different times and in the hotel gym, and working out outside of my routine.

I plan on getting in cardio activity every day this week, adding in weights when I'm in Colorado.  I also saw a Beginner's Yoga class on the board for Sunday morning.  I may take that class on Sunday to mix things up, and honestly, I miss Yoga.  I need to get back to it.

I have my own mat, afterall...
Bottom Line:  I'm thrilled that I'm getting into a routine with working out.  I can't wait to share how this week goes!

What's on the Agenda for 2012?

It's been years since I've made any New Year's Resolutions beyond weight loss.  Every year when the year turned over, I would again think about the extra weight I was carrying and come up with a weak plan for losing it.  The plan usually lasted about a week, and then I ended up in a basket of chips and salsa.

I failed OVER and OVER again until 2011.  Now down nearly 75 lbs, I am proud to say that I don't have to choose a weight loss resolution this year!!!

If I'm not going to resolve to lose weight, what the heck do I want to resolve this year???

1.  Continue my Quest for Healthy Living
While losing weight is not on my list, healthy living is!  Continuing to eat right, exercise, and take good care of myself is #1 on my list for this year.  As a result of the work that I did last year, I feel AMAZING and I plan to hold onto it!

2.  Run a 5K
I've been doing a LOT of thinking about running over the past year, but honestly, I haven't run a single step.  I'm determined that this year, I'm going to run my first 5K.  I'd like it to be at one of my favorite races:  Jodi's Race for Awareness.

Last year, we put together Team Bev in honor of one of my dear, dear friends who was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer.  She's officially kicked its butt, and we're starting the initial planning to walk/run the race next year.

I remember seeing some friends run the race last year, and I knew I wanted to do it.  Couch to 5K will be my training program.  I just need to push those "faster speed" buttons on the treadmill....

3.  Expand my Personal Network
Even though I have lived in Denver for almost 5 years, my network of fabulous friends is still fairly small.  This year, I plan to get more involved in the community and get myself out there to meet people!  I'm also single, so expanding the network could help me get some introductions as well.  I mean, they often call Denver "Menver"... so I know there are guys out there just waiting to meet me, right??

4.  Take NTTC to the Next Level
I love my little blog.... but I think it could be EVEN BETTER in the new year!  When I look back at how it was in 2010 compared to now, we've grown a TON!  I want to do some re-design work this year and learn more about blogging.  This is my first blog, so it's been an exercise of clicking here or there to try something new.  In the new year, I'd love to connect with other bloggers and maybe even attend a blogger conference (wow... did I just say that out loud?)

5.  Take those Trips I've Been Talking About
I DEFINITELY plan to hit GREECE this year with my friend Laurel.
I'm also planning a fun-filled getaway to NYC with my friend Natalie when I hit my weight loss goal.
And, Alicia... if you're reading this, we've GOT to get our trip together too!

Ok... these are official as soon as I click "Publish."  2012, are you ready for this???  I most certainly am!

Holiday Travel Fun – Westbound Edition

Oh, I enjoyed my Eastbound travel SOOOO much more than the Westbound travel.  Even with the flight cancellations and 18 inches of snow, round one was SO much better than round two.

Leaving King Hayden behind didn't make it any easier...
It started early.  I was at the airport by 8:45am and ready to fly.  My plane, however, arrived late.  This created a super-tight connection in Dulles - - 18 minutes.  The gate agent was "sure" I could make it because the gate was "just down the hall."

When we landed in Dulles, we literally had 15 minutes to get off the plane and get to the gate.  I decided to run for it, thinking I could surely make it.  Um, that was the longest "hall" of my life.  I arrived at D15 out of breath and there was a plane I could see out the window but couldn't get to.

That meant I had an additional 3 hours in Dulles to kill.  What to do, what to do.  After I caught my breath, it became entertaining.

It was about 12:30pm, so it was time to get my lunch on.  Airports have TONS of choices, and conveniently there was a Subway RIGHT next to the gate I ran to.  That seemed like the right thing to do, but I really wanted this....

Beth's Famous Patriotic Turkey Dinner Leftover Panini - - Just one more bite of stuffing is all I wanted!
I even debated walking down the concourse to see what other healthy options were around.  Surely, there was something.  I think we both know that would have led me astray.  So, I walked back down to Subway and ordered a sandwich.

I splurged a little and got the Chicken Teriyaki sammie instead of my usual Veggie Delite.  It was AWESOME.  I also added a local topping to the sandwich that I'm now officially in love with.

Check out that hot pepper relish!?  How do I get that in Colorado?  Must find a recipe!
After lunch, I had 2 hours and 40 minutes remaining.  Hmmmm... How convenient that the Subway was right across the hall from this place...

HOW CONVENIENT!
Now, I certainly didn't need a 10 minute manicure, as I was trying to kill time.  I went with the Travel manicure and got it done in Essie's Barefoot and Topless color.  Just a light natural pink.  So cute!

The crazy part about the quick mani is that the guy who did my nails was totally a psychic!  So fun!  We talked about my future and Chinese New Year.  Apparently, I'm a Dragon after YEARS of believing I was a Snake per chinese restaurant placemats.  Also, per his prediction, this blog should be peppered with info about my new man in the new year (when he decides to appear.)

It's the year of the Dragon this year.... quite appropriate if you ask me!
I finally caught my flight and arrived happily in Denver about 5:00pm.  Hmm.... but where-o-where was my bag?  Apparently 3 hours wasn't long enough to get my bag on the plane, so United put it on a later flight.

The "good" news was that they would deliver it to my house between 9pm-1:30am.  My bag arrived at 3:45am.

I stayed up until 1:30am to open the door, but there was no way I'd have made it until 3:45am.  The good news is that my bag is here, the laundry is spinning, and I've got these folks on the TV

Thanks, USA, for expecting me to need chick flicks today!
I do have plans to get to the gym at some point today as well.  I look like I'm up 1.5 lbs from vacation and it's time to work those off!!!

Holiday Travel Fun – Eastbound Edition

Holiday travel season is in full swing, and I was right smack in the middle of all the action yesterday.

FLIGHT DELAYS
If you’ve seen the news (or follow this blog), I’m sure you know that Denver got hammered by a winter storm yesterday.  Accumulation was between 10-14 inches throughout the city - - so crazy!

When I woke up on Thursday morning at the Courtyard, I found a United Rebooking notice.  My friends at United had cancelled my flight to DC, and rebooked me on a later flight to Richmond via Newark.

It was 5:30am when I saw this email, so I did what every smart girl does.  I reset my wake-up call for 8:00am, rescheduled my seat on the airport shuttle for 9:00am and rolled back over in the bed.  When I woke up at 8:00, I checked my flight status to find that the new flight had also been delayed… with a new flight time of 2:10 pm!
I’d already woken up twice and seen light by this point a few times…. It was time to get up.  I had plenty of time, so I decided to do what was good for my bod.  I hit the hotel gym!

The gym was REALLY nice.  Two ellipticals, two treadmills, and a recumbent bike - - But the room had lots of natural light and I could see all that snow that had fallen.  There was also a flatscreen TV with all the news coverage of the storm.  When I was in the gym, the news reported nearly 150 flights had been cancelled in Denver that morning.  So crazy.

Mine was still a-go, so I worked out steadily for about 45 minutes and headed upstairs to get ready for this day of travel.

MY GEAR
My carry-on feels like it weighs a million pounds, but I also travel like I’m planning to entertain a 3 year old from 30K feet.  I had my Macbook, my iPad, my Rebel, some knitting, an iPod, and two magazines.  REALLY??? A girl has to have options!!

Heavy, but worth it!  Lots of options!
WHAT TO EAT
I always try to make sure I have healthy snacks with me when I fly.  So, in addition to the 20 lbs in electronics, I had a Fiber One 90 Calorie Peanut Butter and Chocolate Bar, a baggie of Cinnamon Burst Cheerios (uneaten from breakfast), and a packet of Cherry Berry dried fruit.  Keep in mind, when I got to the airport, I added to the bag.  I was now toting all of the above + 1 bag of Pirate’s Booty + bottle of Dasani + packet of Skinny Cow Dreamy Clusters.  I certainly won’t go hungry, nor do have ANY excuse to grab a hot pretzel or random candy bar.

I did need to grab lunch at DIA, and treated myself to one of my favorite lunches.

Panda Express' "Panda Bowl" with Broccoli Beef and Mixed Veggies - 220 calories!
Dinner was at Newark in the tiny A Concourse, so I had to take what I could get considering it was almost 10pm EST.

AIRPORT BUZZ
I got to the airport right about lunchtime.  Security was busier than Thanksgiving, but fairly mild overall.

Everyone seemed to be in a fairly pleasant mood.  No huge Customer Service lines or massive amounts of people sleeping in the terminals (I always think that’s a sign of a rough day.)

Instead, most of us were just waiting around for flights and hoping to get to go.  When I got on my first flight, how about I was in a row by myself.  Not only was it an EXIT row with extra legroom, but I also had it all to myself.  Just me and my Booty.

Just Me and My Booty

My flight to Richmond was delayed by about 40 minutes, so that gave me time to eat.

I arrived in Richmond at my brother's house at about 1:15 AM.  So happy this travel day was over, and so happy to be spending the holidays with family.

So happy to see this sign, even though it was delayed
I hope everyone else made it to their holiday destinations safely.  It's Christmas Eve Eve... let the fun begin!!!

My First Friend-Makin' Monday: I am....

In honor of a new connection I made last week through this series (Yes, Amy... I'm talking about you!), I bring you...

If you’ve taken part in FMM then you know the rules. If you’re new, please take a moment to answer this week’s question on your own blog then add your link in the comments section here, so we can all see your FMM questions and answers. Please invite your blog readers to add their links here too so everyone has to opportunity to be seen. The idea is to connect with other awesome bloggers so take a moment to post your own FMM post and comment on a couple of other posts. Now it’s time for this week’s topic!

FMM: I am…

1. I am good at… bringing people together, making cake balls, capturing the moment in a picture, texting (or BBM'ing, rather), procrastination, SLEEPING, and speaking in a British accent.

(Source)

2. I am happy when… It's the weekend and there's no snow.  Seriously, the more-than-normal snowfall in Denver this season is about to have me packing!

3. I am working on… creating the best me ever!  I'm also starting to think about what I want my new year's resolutions to be.  I don't usually make them, but this year I plan to!

4. I am interested in understanding my previous weight gain.  While every day, I'm working on losing it, I'm trying to understand the WHY behind the gain in an effort to prevent it from ever happening again.  Simple things like why Pirate's Booty can't last in my cupboard more than a few days really boggle my mind.

5. I am always… overpacking.  Traveling as much as I do, there's just certain things I need to make it feel home-like and the 5 chargers I need to function take up space, too!  I always go into it thinking that I'll pack less, but I never ever do...

6. I am enjoying… photography more than I ever thought possible.  I love taking pictures, reviewing what I've captured, and sharing them.  My dad is sending me some lenses he doesn't use and I can't wait to play with them a bit!  I'd love to take another class and learn more!

7. I am in… my hotel room in Salt Lake City wishing this bed had a heated mattress pad.

8. I am reading… The Best of Me by Nicholas Sparks.  After saving it for over a month, it's time to read it.  I love me some Nick Sparks!!!

9. I am concerned about… my dentist appointment next week.  I think I need a root canal (which means I'll need extra-extra nitrous please.)

10. I am looking forward to… seeing my friend Natalie next week (Hi Nat - This may be your first shout-out!) and heading to Virginia later in the month for the holidays.

Now it’s your turn! Don’t forget to go back and share a link to your blog in the comments here! Happy Monday, my friends!

Idaho: A Week in Review

My first work trip in about EIGHT weeks, I survived it!  Just the same.... It's so nice to be home!

After a busy week in Idaho, I flew home today and saw this.  I kind of expect there to be a welcome sign set up for me over DIA... maybe mowed into the fields near the airport.  Never do I hope nor imagine that it will look like this.

Brrrrr.... I'm freezing just looking at this!
As I blog from my couch and in front of the fire and under a blanket, I can't say that I'm really that cold.  And, mostly, I'm just proud of myself... which makes you warm even in the coldest moments!

You wanna know why??  I've had one of the healthiest weeks I've had in a long time!

To start with.... this week, I've been SUPER impressed with my eating and there's even been some moving.  I've been completely on track this week.  No stepping outside of the boundaries, no extra snacks and way under my calorie limit (because of exercise).

A NEW SANDWICH
I've always loved Great Harvest Bread Company.  I usually go there for cookies for my clients, and always used to get that free slice of bread they offer you when you buy something.

There's one in Idaho Falls, and it was between GH Bread and Subway.  Well, since GH Bread makes sandwiches, too... I decided to try one - - DELISH!

I ordered a 1/2 Build Your Own sandwich on 9 Grain Bread with lettuce, peppers, cucumbers, sprouts, onions, salt, pepper, and oregano.  SOOOOO good!  The bread is perfectly nutty and grainy - - My fave!  Also, 1 slice of this bread comes in at 130 calories and 0.5 grams of fat.  A nice departure from my usual Subway, and the bread is AWESOME.  And, it goes without saying (but I'll say it because I can), I totally skipped the bread sample!

Dinners were also on track, as were all the other lunches.  Dinners were salads with grilled chicken and low fat dressing.  Other lunches were made by the sandwich artists at Subway and the salad geniuses at Cafe Rio.  All on track!

Here's one of my dinners...

JC Swedish Meatballs... Not my fave, but I ate it - - Look at that delish bottle of water!
Now you might notice that there's a telltale M on that water bottle above... well, that's because there's nothing better with Swedish Meatballs than two side salads with a packet of Low Fat Italian Dressing from Mickey D's.  Seriously good.

A CRAZY-GOOD SNACK
I went to TJ Maxx when I was in Twin Falls to get my Christmas shopping moving along.  I do a bit of my shopping on the road, because it's just necessary.  Unfortunately, I didn't find what I was looking for at TJ's, but I did find a sweater for myself (of course).  When I was checking out, I realized that I was famished.  My stomach was SCREAMING.  There's all sorts of snacks at the checkout now at TJ Maxx.  And, I just happened to look to see if they had anything healthy.  Ohhhhh, they did!

Hello, Sensible Foods!  I found a bag of their Cherry Berry Crunch Dried Snacks at the checkout and snatched it up immediately!  Freeze dried apples, cherries, blueberries, and strawberries??  Um, yes please!

The packaging said that it had ONLY 84 Calories.  The perfect snack!  It also was the perfect pre-dinner snack and gave me just enough so that I could workout before dinner - - SUCCESS!

Since then, I've used their website to find out where else to buy them - - because I need to have MORE.  I found some in Boise, and tried the sweet corn flavor, too.  It's delish at 70 calories!

SHOULD WE TALK ABOUT WORKING OUT???
Doesn't it look vicious?
Um, I think we should!  I've posted before that I take gym clothes on trips, but I never wear them.  How about this week I wore them, and even had to re-wear a pair (gross, I know... but I worked out!!!)

Monday night after my flight and before dinner, I jumped on the treadmill and the elliptical.

Tuesday once I got to Twin Falls, I hit the gym AGAIN pre-dinner... sweating it out on the elliptical and stationary bike.

Last night, I did it again! Some time on the stationary bike + that mean elliptical to the right.  It was a Life Fitness, and I'm telling you... it killed!

THREE DAYS IN A ROW, and on the road... I honestly loved it.  I'm a little disappointed I can't go to the gym tonight, but it's WAY too cold.

LASTLY... I have an appointment tomorrow morning.  Just me and the scale.  I'll let you know how it goes.  Wish me luck!!!!
