Oh Boy.... A Good Week, A Memorable Container, and More JC!

So... It's been a fantastic week!  Let's break it down...

WEIGH IN UPDATE
Let's start with my Monday weigh-in... yep, I'm down!  And this week, it was -2.4 lbs!  VERY excited for that (especially after last week's disappointing -.6!)  Woooooo!  So, we'll consider that a 1.5 lb loss for each of the past 2 weeks!  As you can see from my post yesterday, I've officially hit -40 lbs, which is a huge accomplishment as well!  Yay, me!

THIS WEEK'S EFFORTS
Yes, I know that I am on Jenny Craig, but I truly think this is the first week I've been 100% on Jenny Craig.  Since I've joined, I've eaten at least 6 meals of 21 off plan EVERY WEEK.  Daily when I'm out doing my daily sales run, I go into a Subway for lunch and at least once a week I eat out with a client or on the road.  Not the best JC'er, as you can see.  After last week's JC mini-loss, I decided I would go 100% on the program and see what happens.

So... I went out and bought this:  http://www.target.com/Thermos-Sipp-Food-Jar-Teal/dp/B004GBLO72.  It's a Thermos-brand food jar.  So each morning this week (3 so far), I cook my lunch and take it with me!  I've actually enjoyed it!  As you can imagine, a nice hot lunch is so nice compared to my usual Subway.  I've been enjoying the Beef Chow Mein, Orange Chicken, and Rotini and Meatballs.  Yum-O.

Keep in mind the last time I used a Thermos, it looked more like this.... and was full of milk. :)

The even better news is that I'm already down -2 lbs since Monday.  Uh-mazing.... maybe there is something to being 100% on program!  Who knew!!??

I've Lost the Small Boy!

It's official.... I've lost 40 lbs!  My nephew (AKA The Small Boy) weighs in at 40 lbs at 4 1/2 years old!

Note:  Below is a pic of me and the Small Boy over the holidays... Isn't he the most adorable thing ever??

While I would NEVER want to lose that precious angel, I'm excited to think that I've lost the equivalent of what he weighs!

Next goal is to lose his 8 year old sister who weighs 62 lbs!!

Looking Forward to Loss this Week

It's been a really strong week! I'm optimistically looking forward to my Monday weigh in.  Here's hoping I'm down about 2-3 lbs!

I've been behaving, that's for sure!  And, even worked out twice at the hotel during my travel this week!  Woooo!

AND.... I have a new favorite Jenny Craig food.  Yep, I'm over the Orange Chicken, and now I'm all about.... the CHICKEN PESTO PASTA!  Holy basil and garlicky heaven!!!  I'm so excited about this one!

I am NOT a fan of squash... any kind of squash, and there's two kinds featured in this pesto.  The great news is that they are large enough to pick them out.  Sa-weet!  Remove them, if you're like me and you'll still LOOOOOVE the pesto!

Here's to an awesome weigh in next week!!!

Tough Weigh-In + the Best Radio Show EVER

Do you ever get on the scale and think WTF?!?!

That's what happened to me this week.... I got to Utah on Sunday night and had scheduled an appointment to weigh-in at the JC center in Ogden, UT.

I bounced into the center, super-excited about weighing in... little did I know I would be quickly disappointed.  Um, how in the HELL did I only lose -.6 lbs???  WTF... Wow, That's Fun!

Then, I proceeded to spiral and make myself a cranky-ass for the next few hours.  Mad.  Declaring that I would never eat out again in my life EVER.  Just furious and frustrated.

Then, I turned on my FAVORITE wake-up show Cosmo Radio's Wake Up with Taylor

If you haven't listened to the show and listen to Sirius/XM... what are you waiting for??  It's on  Sirius/XM 109.  Wow... these folks have no idea how much they make my day (and thousands of others, I'm sure).  On this particular morning, they were announcing the beginning of their Fat Kids Fit Club that was scheduled to begin today.  Unbelieveable exchanges between Kenny and Taylor quickly had me laughing out loud.  (ie Taylor suggesting that they take before pictures in white unitards, and Kenny's uh-mazing reaction.)

It's amazing how humor can make you snap out of it, and get back on track.  Special thanks to Kenny and Tay for helping me through it.  I literally could have been worthless all day and totally cranky, but I made it, with much thanks to you.

I made it to the gym, as a true Fat Kids Fit Club member would, and I'm clearly on track to blow away that -.6 that happened this week.

The End.

WOW... It's Been a Month!

, Well, friends and followers... it's been a month since I've blogged??  Geez, Louise... time to get back on it!

It's been a whirlwind month, so I'm certain that's part of it.  Weight loss has been SLOOOOOOOW.  Much of the reason is that I've been out of town nearly non-stop.  From annual company meetings (with buffets!), a California getaway, and traveling with my boss, I just haven't been able to escape restaurant ordering and cocktails.

I must admit, the cocktails have been nice,  but I'm really trying to buckle down now.  No more of the madness.  Need to get back on track!

Despite the craziness of the past month, there hasn't been a time that I've gained weight (phew!) and I've actually exercised more now than before.  So, some definite wins amongst the mess of travel.

I've recommitted myself for the next 6 weeks, as I'm determined to lose about 12 lbs before my Spa weekend in Scottsdale.  Keep in mind, I'll be rewarding myself a LITTLE bit early for my -56 lb reward, but I definitely want to get to Scottsdale before it starts hitting the triple digits (eeks!)

New favorite restaurant:  Seasons 52.  If you haven't tried it and you live near one, GO NOW!  The one I went to was in South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, CA.  Unfortunately, I don't have one near me where I live (or I'd probably be there now.)

The concept is that they have a seasonal menu with specials that change weekly.  The most amazing part is everything on their menu has LESS than 475 calories!!!  WOW... I had an amazing Indian-inspired skewers: "Spicy Tandoori Chicken Skewers with fresh mango chutney and cucumber herb raita and organic mixed greens salad."  Doesn't that sound heavenly??  AND... only 340 calories!  Woo hoo!  Seriously, I loved this place.  Find one and get there as soon as you can.

Trying New JC Items:  I have been trying to mix it up a little bit and try a few JC items that I haven't tried in the past.  Example:  Had the chicken sandwich for lunch.  Not sure why I've never tried that before - - delish!  Tried the mac and cheese last week (eh) and have a chocolate chip snack bar in the cupboard.  More excited am I about the new Pesto Pasta... come on, JC, I'm ready for that now!

Next Goal: I'm still trying to get to 40, but now it has greater significance.... my 4-year old nephew weighs 40 lbs!  I'm trying to lose a Hayden!  Hoping by next week I'll have lost him.

I'm going to start blogging more often.  Next blog should be about learning to enjoy activity.
